If you are the parent or guardian of a student at Abbot, you already are a member of the PTO!
To become an active supporter, you can:
Attend the PTO meetings where important issues impacting Abbot families are decided and committees report on current activities
Volunteer to help in your child’s classroom as a room parent, or to assist room parents with particular parties or activities
Join a PTO Committee that sounds interesting to you
Add your name to the “Service as Needed” Committee to be called for help at one-time events or as needed.
Everyone is invited to come to the PTO meetings. For 2025-2026, we will be having a mix of in-person and Zoom meetings.
All meetings start promptly at 7pm, and we work hard to keep them to 60-75 minutes. We’ll send meeting details via email each month.

The support of our amazing volunteers keeps our events and programs running. We welcome all who’d like to get involved to join a committee or volunteer as needed. Time commitments vary by committee and role, with some as short as 30 minutes. There are many event-specific opportunities throughout the year.
Read the list of committee descriptions to see where you can contribute and then submit our online volunteer form.
You’ll see the work we do reflected throughout this website in our fundraising, annual events, and programs.
You can reach out to listed committee chairs directly or contact us at abbotpto@gmail.com anytime with questions or to get involved. We also send out an online volunteer form at the start of the school year where you can express your interest in different committees.
Beyond committee work, Run-a-Thon, Book Fair, and the Ice Cream Social all require volunteers to fill a variety of roles. We’ll send out calls for these specific events closer to the respective dates.
In order to volunteer, you will need a current Abbot Volunteer Form on file with the office. It’s a good idea to fill out one at the start of the year so you’re good to go.
